drum sleeves

anyone know of a place that makes the sleeves in real fine grits?

The finest grit I have seen is 220. I've just wrapped 400 and higher to the drum in the rotating direction to get into the tighter places. Works okay but can slap on the untaped edge if you get it running too fast.

I was told today that Rio Grande jewelry supply carries the drums up to some very fine grits.

I searched "finishing band" on the Rio Grande jewelry website and found grits up to 1200 grit.

1/2"x1/2". Comes out to about 60cents apiece. Thanks for the tip SDS, and thanks for bringing it up, V6! :thumbup:
