I suspect Marshal Dan is Warlock6.

I keep an eye on the plank walkers. Looks like Cougar got him before he caused any more trouble.

WL6 said he wouldn't be back if he got banned again. Looks like that was something else he lied about.

Just in case anyone's wondering, I am one of the ones that investigated G6's background. I wanted to say this earlier because I don't like sniping at folks from the background but I couldn't find the proper place to do so. Now is as good a time as any. He'll see it if he wants to, and my email address is available via Vcard. He (and anyone else) is more than happy to let me know what they feel about that, and anything else. I no longer have enough hatred in my heart to hold grudges.

Without going into details, I was unable to disprove anything he said, but at the same time I was unable to verify any of it either. That, alone, made my spidey sense tingle. There were some other inconsistancies as well. What I'm saying is, I proved nothing to anyone but myself. Consider that at least before passing judgement on anyone. Others may have discovered something else.

I'm not entirely convinced that he was a fake and I'd love for someone to prove to me that he wasn't, but I found myself sceptical when all was said and done. I find myself sceptical of a lot of things these days. The problem may lie more with Dave Rishar than anything else.

I do apologize for this, but I don't know what else to say. (I find myself apologizing for a lot of things these days as well. Change is difficult for me.) But there you go - I'm no longer anonymous and I'm available for comment. If you have a problem with what I did, feel free to tell me and understand that I don't mention things said via email here unless told to do otherwise.

Dave. In the interests of keeping word salads to a minimum,
I have three comments to make.

1) Listen to your "Spidy Sense" seems well developed to me.

2) Do not feel bad, you are at a vunerable time in your life. Your
reaction to #1 was perfectly normal, given your
"need to know" instincts. (Where is the temper line)

3) Your self belief does not belong to the Navy!
It belongs to YOU. Cherish it!

4) What ever you do, you will do well. My "Spidy Sense" tells me
this. I'll bet I am not alone in this...

Regards,
Brent.
So I cant count - shoot me:D

Dave, I don't get the feeling that banning W6/G6/FNG/etc had as much to do with his claims as it did his behavior.

Exactly. The 'net is full of liars and tellers of tall tales. It always has been, and it always will be. Think of how many disappointed singles thought they were going to meet up with a blond haired, blue eyed, icelandic model from the online profile on one of those online dating sites. Instead they ended up splitting a pizza with Jabba the Hutt. My point is that the internet allows us to stretch the truth or even out right lie. Ghost6 was probably a great warrior once. He probably has had a stellar career as a soldier. He's probably seen things that would drive a normal man to tears and nightmares. Or...he didn't. We'll probably never know. What we do know is that he was abrasive, and it wasn't in a surly fun way. When Ben was around, he got your goat, BUT at least 25% of the time it was funny on some kind of mean level. W6 wasn't like that. He seemed hateful and everytime you called him out on it he just threw out "Well Bill always liked it. Bill wanted this place to be a place of free thought. Say, did you know I gave Bill his nickname Uncle Bill?" Noted (for the 9th time).
Uncle Bill did want this to be a place of free speech and thinking. A place where ideas spring forth and men and women from all corners of the earth can meet for a few minutes out of the day, shut the door from the blustering storm outside, and have a talk. Disagree sometimes, and maybe even shout a bit. But never in a mean way to argue for arguing's sake.
Dave, you did good, IMHO. I have no problem with your methods or research. I had a similar spidey tingling, but I have no idea where to even start looking up stuff like that. Until someone can counter it, I see your findings to be accurate enough. Thanks.

Dave, Jake, and most folks...

You have great hearts.

You are not contentious, but gracious and generous.

Don't fret about YOUR instincts.

And W6? Fare well, where ever you fare.

I want and strive to be a loving person, but sometimes you have to kill the inhabitants, burn the villages, and salt the soil.

Why? Because you love something else more than the threat you're destroying.

Just a thought.

I agree with earlier suggestions. When a post oversteps bounds, move it to Whine & Cheese. They have a way of dealing with idiots.

I'm back from my trip...nothing to see...move along.
