Dry split fingers effect EDC

Excessive hand washing has me standing in front my collection evaluating which models hurt less to open and close.
Spydie hole grinds through the split in my thumb. Many locks hurt to disengage.
This is working pretty good lately.

Get some foot crack cream with urea. That will heal your fingers quickly. After they heal, keep a little Vaseline, just a tad, on your hands, but not enough to be oily once it soaks in. Superglue works, but it is a temporary solution. What I suggest will keep your hands healthy.

Yeah, I always have problems with dry skin. As others have said, get some moisturizer. I'm partial to Eucerin, but they should all work.

Also, as others have mentioned, you can mod your knives if needed. For Spydieholes, you can knock down any sharp edges with a circular file/ceramic rod. I've also had really good luck using a Dremel with the 941 grinding stone to put in nice, even chamfers. You can also hit any aggressive jimping with sandpaper or dremel buffing wheel.

Other than that, it's just picking knives that have really good ergos for opening and closing. Spyderco's Taichung and Japanese models tend to leave sharp edges (Taichung is getting better - the recent Watu is extremely well chamfered). Anything with a stonewashed finish should work better - I use a Maxamet PM2 as my EDC which works great.

Why not cut out the middleman and just have him pee on his hands? ;)
