Hey guys,

I recently heard about these knives. They're made in Israel and I like the look of them. (especially the Model Magen )

Anyone know anything about them? Anybody have one?

I've heard of them before, they look nice. I think ther's a video or two on youtube of them. That can probably help you out.

Can even be purchased in North America?

I mean, with the magic of Paypal, so much is possible :p, but I haven't heard much at all about these knives...

I actually have a model 1 Arad, a buddy was doing contract work in israel and ran into one of the owners/makers (not sure), and brought me one back. It has just sat in my closet, it is a beast and it feels like a great knife just haven't taken the opportunity to use it. Not really my style I feel like a rambo wannabe just holding it.

Does anyone know the benefit of heat treating D2 a little softer?

Almost all D2 manufactures I've seen strive to get a 59-61 RC.

i read a review on them a while back, it was kind of a destruction test. The company owner or someone from dustar asked a soldier to use and abuse it for research. It held up very well according to the soldier, I remember him posting pics of a mlitary ammo container he stabbed holes into and he actually cut it in half I believe

Two possible benefits:
- Easier field sharpening.
- Make it tougher than it would be if hardened to 60

google up a dealer called "Gear 2 Survive" in Georgia - he is a dealer and gets them all the time.
The owner is a real good guy too.
