Dual Survival

I love the bickering between the two. It's all good natured and most certainly egged on by the producers but it's entertaining to see two perspectives that are so different.
It was awesome, and in the end they kiss^b^b^b^bhug and make up :p
but I really don't want to hear "bush hippy" in the next episode, or bushy hippy, or hippy bush or any other combination, seriously :D

I've watched two shows so far and for the most part it's good. I do think the conflict between them is a little staged for ratings. Also some of the stuff, like going off into the woods to check traps at night, was a little bit staged to.

I'll watch the whole series for sure, then I'll make up my mind on it.

Just got a facebook message that DAVE got married today!!!!!!

He is having a good year with the show, a granddaughter and marriage.

Congrats and all the best Dave.

After watching Episode 2 - I Eat My Words. I note that they taste bitter as though they were full of alkaloids ;)
Yeah, things took a sudden turn for the "adventurous", didn't they?
I was looking forward to it after seeing the first one, too.

Now that I have seen a couple of episodes, it does not seem like they are actively promoting the conflict component, which I think is good. Both guys are likable in their own way as well.

So is Dave that Hyper in real life? I mean if he was in the army he ought to know hurry up and wait. seems like a lot of people that know more survival stuff than I do say conserve energy and Dave looks like he is on a rampage. I have seen some of the utoob stuff and he is a smart man.

but (sigh) in the second show they climb down a water fall.....

and Cody brings home the bacon, I mean eel. And like Dave I think I would prefer my eel cooked. I like the show.

watch it with an open mind and you never know even if you learn a small tip it may help you some time.

I respect both men, but I dig the laid back attitude a little better

Very true. I think the commercial was to simply grab viewers' attention.

Watching the second episode, the waterfall one which I think is the second one, and it is pretty good. They have very different techniques and interests, though seem to get along well and are friendly....which brings me back to the above point since I didn't think they'd get along too well.

tonight's episode will be the 3rd.

Seems so, in Belize this time too. I spent part of a day there when I went a cruise earlier this year and went on a tour of some of the Mayan ruins and countryside a little too. First time I was in a real jungle and it was one hell of a place. Should be an interesting show.

+1

Thinking back it made sense since most of the audience would be asking themselves the "why the hell doesn't he wear shoes" question.

Just caught tonights episode. I liked it more then the other two. I believe it is getting better with each episode.

Anyone catch the commercial of the other survival show that will be on Discovery?

man woman wild.
at first i thought it was a subway commercial.
i'll still watch it.

Yep, that is the one.

"Man, Woman, Wild," from Renegade 83 Entertainment, follows former Special Forces survival expert Myke Hawke and his journalist wife Ruth as they visit some of the most forbidding and remote locations around the world where they are tasked with surviving for four days, armed with only a knife and the clothes on their backs. The newcomer launches Friday, July 16 at 9:00/8:00c leading into new episodes of the similarly-themed "Dual Survival" at 10:00/9:00c.

Definitely seems like it. I caught the first and second episodes tonight and it definitely gets better.

The man woman vs wild one looks alright. Could be promising.

Just caught three episodes. IMHO, way better than watching Bear Grylls suck maggots from rotting zebra testicles. These guys seem genuine and excellent at improvising, and a good team who respect each other's talents. Way cool. Pretty sure I saw a Mora around Cory's neck.

Tonights episode was really good. That hammock Dave wove was sweet, and the firestarting was great. Its not easy to use a reflector to start an ember. Takes alot of patience and a steady hand. Codys nuts for tromping around Belieze barefoot. Thats hardcore. I liked that they spared the boas....
