Was it me, or did Matt graham have a winkler filed knife in last night's episode?

haha, I saw it too, but then it disappeared! I was watching because they were in the Alleghenies and I'm an Alleghanian.

Its a Winkler for sure, I paused it and got a good look.

I was laughing to myself when Joe switched knives with Matt and he gave him the Tops knife that he designed and he said it wasn't carbon steel. Tops uses 1095 on just about everything that idiot designed the knife and didn't know what kind of steel it had.

Doesn't surprise me, Joe is another stolen valor idiot ,seems anyone can get on TV nowadays.

J. Teti already had the Griffin, not the Tops. So not an idiot that mucho.

But why design a knife for season one, try to sell it in masses and then use a very different model the next season ?
Reality check reasons probably, to be more polite than some people here.

Also, Condor brought out a production version of the reground Jungle Bowie that Matt used.
Now the guy goes hiking with a Winkler. Bad coincidence.

I like them using different knives. Using a Mora for everything is kind of boring on a show.

I take pause to this statement. I am a veteran, and although I do think Joe is an ass, I haven't found any information linking his service to dishonesty. In my opinion, if you're in country, you're in country. If the guy was a spook, then it'll never be verified. Until I see proof that he wasn't a spook, I'll challenge any haters statements on my thread.

To the Tops and 1095 steel, I had to laugh too. I thought Joe had a Tops knife and also thought it was funny when he said it wouldn't throw sparks. Then I realized that if it had the coating that tops uses, it wouldnt.

I didn't really notice what Joe was carrying

I'm a army vet as well got out 2012, Michael hawke was Joe teti's commander and has publicly called Joe out about lying about military service. There was a thread with links a few weeks ago, apparently there going to court so hopefully the truth will come out with. There's a bunch of info out there on the subject check it out. I don't like lying to inflate military service. period.

Here's some info and links in this thread

Here's a link to the army times on him being booted from the special forces association

As a vet you should frown upon that crap as well.

I love it up in the Allegheny National forest, and anywhere else above I-80 is good to go for me.

I've read all those articles. It may be true, it may also he sour grapes. Time will tell.

No worries man, If he's lying then screw him. If he's not there will be an awful lot of crow to eat by allot of folks.

Edited to add: it does upset me when folks lie about their service experience. I think it's utterly shameful and should be dealt with. What I am saying, is that in my experiences if teti was CIA as he eludes to, then his service is still service and would not show in his official records. I for one would not want to be outed by TV idiots if my experiences includes clandestine CIA ops. In this regard we will never know. So, teti gets a survival show and Hawkes show is cancelled. Not even a chance of sour grapes?

It looked like a Winkler to me as well. I was trying to figure out where they were. I thought they were near the Pennsylvania grand Canyon for a minute, but I could not be sure.

I'm in south central pa and it was cool to see them local. I would like to see more survival shows based in the states with slightly less drama and more content.

Agreed time will tell, if some how he exposes his former commander and the special forces association as liars there will be ALOT of crow being eaten lol

Agreed, now back to that winkler! Personally, I think he makes a very nice knife. I've had the field myself and really liked it. It's one of the knives I regret selling...

My understanding of the the controversy is that it revolves around the fact that Teti said he's a "combat veteran" and Hawke took exception to that because Teti was never deployed while in the U.S. Military. This is true and Teti admits it, however, Teti DID see action during his time as a private contractor. So I guess it's all semantics, I guess it's all about whether you think a "combat veteran" is only someone whose seen action while actively serving in the military. My feeling is that these two never liked each other from the beginning.
