DUC....Dress Up Carry...

DUC....Dress Up Carry...
I just bought this one for exactly that purpose. I've not carried it yet. Won't until my wife officially "gives" it to me in October. But it's in the dresser drawer and it's gorgeous.

Slippies. I carry either Case Med Stockman CV or Black Alox SAK pioneer. It is actually a good looking sak.

It seems that at most dress occasions there are mostly people who will not want to see someone carrying a knife so this is about as un offensive as I can get while still having a quality piece.

Dress Up Carry for me would be small, unobtrusive and nice looking. I wouldn't use the clip or pouch. I've put one of these in my pocket for a dress up carry on occasion:

My DUC is a custom engraved Kershaw Leek, all black with a skull and crossbones etching. Slim, stylish, and just plain cool. Best 50$ i could have spent on a dress up knife.

Mine is a small, ebony inlaid, classic sebbie carried in the breast pocket of my jacket in its slip sheath.

hey TKC, what are those, they look very nice!
Thank you for the compliment. They are:
1. 2 Matt Cucchiara Mini Scrappers.
One has a Gecko & Dolphin, with a Damascus blade, and the other
just has a Gecko carved into it.
2. Patrick Nihiser "Little Teaser"
3. Brad Duncan Mini Whiplash. Brad put on dual thum studs for me.

I think that on "dress up occasions" you really dont have a lot of edc cutting chores so I personally go as tactical as possible. And small. And I carry it completely hidden as deep as possible in my pocket. Usually, its my blackwater 707 since my 707sequel is still NIB and I dont want to take it out until I wreck my other one.

I think the most ideal thing in these situations is a swiss army knife or a small multi tool.

But regardless of occasion, I like my Spyderco Native.

Used to carry a Kershaw Chum as my dress knife due to it's classy appearance and small size. But I found that a 2.5" closed length knife isn't really suitable for much more than cutting loose threads. It's now retired in favor of a Queen Abalone linerlock or older Imperial MOP slippie.

This is easy. I wear suits or blazers everyday to work. I have the Benchmade Shoki. This is one great knife with just about every feature you want on a small knife. It is very handsome and wicked sharp. I carry in it's sheath but not clipped to my pocket, but deep inside. I highly recommend this knife for edc dress up. Second would be my Leek.
