I don't own a Sharpmaker, but after some thought I got the 701 Profile Stones, and couldn't be more pleased with them. I just stopped using stones and sharpenning systems from other brands (Gatco, Smith's, Gerber). After the Profiles, I just use a leather strop to finish up.
However, when travelling light, I still pack my old Gatco Tri-Seps. Good enough for touch ups on serrated or plain edges, if you keep a steady hand. Finish with the back of my belt, or some cardboard on a table.
