The blade is 16" long and the handle is 8". The blade is about 5/16" thick at the ricasso, and there is a mellow distal taper.
There is not a ton of meat behind the edge bevel, and the blade cuts deep.
This is not a great one handed knife for a weakling such as myself, but the handle is just the right length to get a firm, two handed grip. It's also grippy and comfortable. I really like the soft feel of the fabric, even though its been thoroughly soaked in epoxy. If he didn't tell me it was epoxied, I wouldn't have known.
This thing is the most heavy hitting knife of its kind that I've used. Too heavy for belt carry, but if I had to chose between this and an axe of equal weight, no question this would be my choice. I'll build a sheath for it that will accomodate pack and sash carry.
The timber I was hacking at in the video is cherry. The tree fell over and has had a season to start drying out. It's pretty easy to cut when it's green or decomposing, but it's pretty damn hard after a season or so.
Very impressed with the performance, no chipping, even with the fine edge. It rolled some here and there, but that's normal and easy to deal with.
