Dui Chirra VS Berkeley Special

Wow, Thanks for fine pics everyone. Darn fine blade there Steve. You know, I really do find it difficult to save for that snowblower when you post eye candy like that! Oh well at least I'll have great khuks and a guaranteed cardio workout.

:) mark

wow I can't amagine having something so big tucked in your sash/belt
I would have to have a after market sling sheath made for it

I always liked the sling/belt/baldric that Sarge made a few years ago. Wish I had a picture so I could get one made. It seemed a good idea. ambidextrous. Easy rider IIRC. Just a big loop of leather with a ring or somesuch at the joined ends. Any size or weight khuk could be utilized.

Anyone got a pic of it?

I'm pretty sure this is Sarge's Baldric on his Tulwar. If it's someone elses work, I apologize in advance. Sarge would be pleased if you'd try to make it yourself!:)

Steve thanks for the pics of the baldric. Seems like an easy design to make.

I was wondering who made your 22" Dui Chirra. Mine was made by Kumar. Just curious which Kamis usually made this model.

I recieved my Dui Chirra with the extended tool kit a couple of weeks before my area was slammed by a major ice storm. Heck of a workout for all my Kuks both HI and non HI.
I will say this that Dui Chirra chops frozen wood like a bleeping nepalese light saber. Mine is currently the investigate strange noises at night Kukhri.

Wow that khukri is a big beautiful beast!

Wow that is a great looking blade if anyone has one they want to get rid of look my way lol.

A baldric is the best way to carry the 25"-ers, IMO, unless you're on horseback.

Might not be a bad idea for some of the 1/2" thick, crazy-heavy khuks either.

Aliloff made a nice sheath for my Blackjack Panga that is set up for baldric style carry. I need to go to Tandy for a 1 " leather strip and some halter snaps for making the strap. Once I have the strap I plan on making a baldric and maybe some frogs and sheathes as well.

I'd like to do at least one quick draw sheath with a frog that can carry the karda, chakma and also possible a firesteel and ceramic rod.

this guy is one of the tough ones! I wouldn't like to meet him in the dark when he is grumpy. :)

eric valli's himalaya is a wonderful collection of photography from the himalaya's including nepal. there are a few weather folk in there that are beautiful and work hardened, even more so then the gentlement shown here.
