Oregon,

Very nice, I am looking forward to picking one or two up myself, thanks for posting the great pics.

Thank you kindly, my pleasure.

The wood slabs couldn't have been better matched if I had picked them out myself. I couldn't be more tickled.

A handsome Duke and the photos show it well. DM

I was hesitant to be an early adopter of the re-born Duke but I am OK now. The pics don't really capture the luster/jewel-like/gleem of the liquid mercury like brilliance of the bolsters that I see in person. I barely believe my own eyes. You look up "silvery" in the dictionary and you see these bolsters. Quite an improvement if you like silver.

Beautiful knife and photos! I'm gonna get me one or two of those.

Thanks on both fronts. Ten years gone is quite some time to wait for this gem, particularly if you are old as dirt like myself.

I can't wait to see some pictures! :D

The old camera got hot after taking all those pics so I put it in a bucket of cold water. May be a while until the next photo...

Tried to go for a walk down by the river by myself and the cross traffic wouldn't let me be! :)

Great looking knife! So glad they brought this one back!

THX. Does Buck read my mind now or have I drunk the KookAid? Don't answer that because I'm in dutch either way. Ha! You and me both.

A great photo. It was one of the 'Slimline Series' a handsome model. Also, Sitfly, I went back thru my old catalogs and searched for the Duke. Your correct it's missing in the 2003 catalog. DM

Amazing knife man, I apologize to ask a question on your thread. but could anyone message me an online retail store to buy this new in production Duke 500. Can't seem to find them anywhere. I know you can't post but I would appreciate a private message if possible, thanks.

There are none available now, mine came from the popular auction site, per my scan which makes me wonder why but anything I could say would be speculative.

My Eyes tells me the Duke 500 in whatever it actually is (still being discussed) looks better, it seems to look more even and smoother for lack of a better word. I don't care as long as it looks good, so what ever the final word is, will be ok with me. I just want a few as soon as I can get them. Thanks Oregon for posting more pics, can't get enough of the 500.

Here is the end view of the new 500 sandwiched in between the NS 110s:

I've only wiped the fingerprints, using a soft cotton towel and my sweet breath, after removing the knives from their boxes. Notice that the 110 on the right has specks of some stuck on polishing compound. No magnetic attraction at the ends of any.

Beautiful pics oregon:thumbup:
The camera seems to imply that the Duke has been polished to a slightly smoother finish than the 110's...

Thank you for the kind words.

I've gone over all three knives with an illuminated loupe looking for sign. I have come to no conclusions as to the metal used in the bolsters of the new 500.
