DUKE, pics

Thank you for the kind words.

I've gone over all three knives with an illuminated loupe looking for sign. I have come to no conclusions as to the metal used in the bolsters of the new 500.

Well, I would say that your very first picture and the last two pics you posted show a difference.
In the first pic. you can see that the Duke is more silver than the 110's which have a slight yellow/brass tint to them.
In the last two you can easily see the bolsters vs the filler in the 110's and no variations in the 500.
The other pics have two much yellow light in them to see any difference other than in the degree of pollish

NIIIIIIIIIIIIICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I saw that on the auction site-I'm hopin that deal returns:thumbup:

The sheath is perfect and doesn't have any made in foreign land tags on it. Made here perhaps? I have to confess that I find the Duke a perfect fit for the RF Watch pocket of my blue jeans.

The Duke is one of the greatest knives Buck ever made. I am glad that it found the way into the catalog again.
The more I hope that it comes into the custom shop to the other 50x models too.

Oregon,
I couldn't resist: It is a great wildlife photo you made. I put' a few light in it. If you don't like it,
I delete it at once.

Your skilled edit looks great Haebbie. Thank you. That Great Blue Heron was companion to a great number of Canadian Geese for several days as they all roamed deep grass among small oak trees. It didn't fly even when some of the geese did fly off. Used to people perhaps but it made me wonder why pace the geese and I figured that they disturbed animals, frogs and such, for the Heron's meals.

The new 500 would be putty in your hands inside the custom shop. It is real wealth. When you buy such a knife you are converting paper money, federal reserve notes, into actual wealth like gold in my hands it has long lasting value. I am lucky to be alive in this time of terrific cutlery. Lucky lucky.

Oregon, your photography skills make the knives look terrific. I cannot wait to find a new 500 locally. OH

I am blushing OH. Thank you for your kind words. The new 500 is a robust hand-filler drop point beauty gift to enthusiasts by the family that walks this earth like giants in my humble opinion. The graceful words, on the flip side of each warranty card, speak to me.

These just slipped out... I am on the ring of fire here so Obsidian is pretty common which helps explain why I have a chunk on my desk along with the 500 and, well, uh, ummmm, they just go together... :)

Thank you for looking.

Great looking 500 !I love this knife and its nice to see a new one.I have one nib with leather sheath ,I think from 1995,one of my favorites .

WTG. These new Dukes have been like hen's teeth so I'm glad that I have one in hand. I see a few available now. So what is your opinion, stainless steel or nickel silver bolsters?

I wish that they offered one in the custom shop. I'd get one in S30V. I also wish that you could get another wood, besides the Cherry. While I am OK with the laminated wood, I'd prefer something like Maccassar Ebony, or another hard wood. Kingwood or Rosewood would be perfect.

Well my favorite online knife store got a bunch of new Bucks in today and I thought man the 500 Duke has to be here and well it was not, kinda felt like my air left the balloon.
