was just sliding a piece of innertubing onto then handle of one of my moras when the corner I was pulling it from broke loose, and sliced my finger and thumb...Stupid mistake I haven't cut ,yself on a knife in at least 10 years nothing big I can still strum the guitar A little pressure and about 5 minutes of elevation and they stopped bleeding...no worries...ny pride is more hurt than anything. too tired to be fiddling around with knives, weel have a good night everybody

I cut myself today,it hasn't been 10 years but it's been a while.I had just convexed a marbles and was trying out the edge on some fuzzsticks,I wasn't used to the upswept tip on the trailcraft and stuck the point into the back of my thumb...It's sharp:o

 WHAT???? You can still strum your gitfiddle? Seems your knifes edge needs a little work then.:D Sorry to hear about you losing the argument.

I manage to cut myself at least once a year whether I need it or not. If no other good comes from it, it definitely keeps us honest and just a bit humble....:o

Looks like it has kinda messed up your typing though ;) I play guitar, bass (electric and upright), hand drums and Native American flutes. . . I know how frustrating it can be to have a hand or finger injury. Even if it doesn't keep you from being able to play, it can be distracting and throw you off. Hope you heal up soon.

I did exactly the same thing taking inner tubing off the handle of a Becker Necker last December and spent EIGHT hours in the ER waiting to get four lousy stiches. I'm slowly getting some sensation back-- middle finger pad on my left hand. I play music too-- be careful!

superglue works good on sealing up cuts. i always keep some on hand along with rubber bands to use as stitches. glue a rubber band to one side of the cut then stretch a rubber band to the other side, apply glue all over and the cut will be held closed and on its way to healing.

Yikes, i almost did the same thing with a mora and some innertube a while back. That's when i wised up and finished the job by clamping the blade in a vise and using hairspray to get the tube on. Don't ask, it works good with handlebar grips too.

I cut my finger tip the other day using a mini croc stick to sharpen a knife, you have to be real careful with finger position for those.

You haven't seen dumb unless you saw me mistakenly pull out the blade on my Leatherman Squirt instead of the nailfile and nearly saw off the tip of my thumb thinking I was filing the nail down a little.

Yowee, pain, blood and embarrassment all rolled into one.:o

I agree that ten years with no cuts is unbelievable. I bleed on almost every knife I make. Trick is to only get minor cuts....

I think even the safest knife nut cuts himself once in a while. A couple years back I cut my thumb to the bone with a razor sharp SAK. Didn't even hurt much, at first! Then it bled like a stuck pig, and hurt a LOT. Took ten stitches.

yeah I usually pay close attention when fiddling wiht my knives but I had just done back to back doubles and was in the middle of a conversation with the mrs... it was bound to happen...THe last cut I remember from a knife was with the small blade of a vic camper when I was around 22 was cuttin up some potatoes while car camping again no stitches but probably could have used em.

Just so long as you don't cut your ding-dong, you should be O.K.

Ouchie Sorry bro, but when you post threads like this it reminds us to be careful and pay attention to our sharpy-pointy things; so TY.
