The GB hatchet looks like a lot of fun and I have wanted to try one out. For camping, I personally prefer a khukuri. In fact, I had one designed just for light camping (Pen Knife Khukuri) and they can be had for $100 new, or $50 (blem) on the HI forum now and then. They're tough, hand-forged, signed by the maker, lightweight (relatively), and easy to sharpen. Just my plug for a good knife, I guess, but it does the job nicely for a heckuvalot less $$. (which is basically the definition of all of Bill's khukuris)

as you can see you have a lot of different opinions from kukri to axes to saws to large knives. so now you get to figure out which fits your personal style and needs.
