Dumb question about board shorts!!!

Under Armour all day long for underwear. No swampiness when out in the heat.

Board shorts are awesome.

My favorite pair of board shorts.....

I just checked the tag on mine. They are 81% polyester and 19% spandex. Other companies make similar, but the Walmart brand is easy and affordable.

Don't have too much to add, but after having several pair of regular swim trunks where the liner/netting chafed my favorite appendage badly, I swore them off completely and switched to linerless boardshorts. I wear them commando or with synthetic briefs depending on the situation.

Here in Oz board shorts are all ubiquitous.
Everyone wears them with underwear on.

Nobody wears Dickstickers or budgie smugglers ( speedos)

If you're going to wear underwear, and you're going to be in the water, I suggest NOT wearing cotton underwear. Instead, pick up a couple pair of nylon/polyester/spandex compression style boxer-briefs from Walmart. They're comfortable when wet, and they dry quickly. Walmart has their Starter brand for about $10/pair or so.

Stay away from the Russell brand boxer briefs. They run small, ride down over the butt, and have no fly. Pity, given the quality of Russell sweats.

Day 1 on the beach. Board shorts and goin' commando! All is good. How did I ever live without these?? Thank you guys for answering my stupid question.

We are dodging lightning

Oh buddy.... I know it's rare, but growing up in Florida, lightning strikes are no joke. This just happened last month and from all witnesses it was just one random strike with storms off in the distance- http://www.orlandosentinel.com/news/breaking-news/os-lightning-kills-one-20160625-story.html

Be careful out there!
Bruce

edit- To be a little more on topic- A lighting strike, or even a close call, could definitely ruin your new boardshorts!

FL dude here, according to local young guys, you have to wear underarmour brand undies then wear billabong board shorts to be cool. I just go commando in my goodwill found billabong board shorts.

And chafing is horrible. 6' 2" 145# I chafe a lot at work. Especially when I'm line trimming bunkers, sand gets in areas that aren't cool.
