In a recent thread there were some comments made about a older SH II :

what caught my eye :
I tried this out with an INFI BM and it didn't effect the edge at all. I discussed this with a friend who lives in Malyasia and he was surprised at the damage as he handles cocounts on a regular basis. Some minor rolling as described on the Basics would be not unheard, but actual steel fractures, ie. chipping, is surprising.
Anyway, it is an older SH, 95/96 and I am curious is this the A2 generation and what is the NIB edge geometry - convex or flat? Is this the expected level of durability for a model of such a generation?
By the way, did we every get to see a picture of the new serration pattern that was discussed some time ago?

this past one some friends had a coconut and we were gonna use it in a recipe and they needed it opened. so field testing began i got my busse and whack whack with the cutting edge. yeah I knew the back would have worked just fine but I was in a "testing" mood. There were some serious chips in the edge.
