I worked with him several months ago, and been meaning to post this for a good long while, but wanted to first get out into the field and have some impressions and photos of the work he did in-use, but unfortunately I've been having some health issues and the one time I made it out for an extended trip, it rained the entire time... I digress, I just wanted to make sure to give Duramax his due as having not only made, but mostly having designed these sheaths, which are bar none the best I've ever had among the hundreds of sheaths I have owned over the years.
1. Designs are extremely functional and well thought-out.
2. Materials are top-of-the-line. Totally bombproof and feel great.
3. Execution of designs, the fit and finish, are outstanding.
4. Duramax was a total pleasure to deal with. I provided some input for what I was looking for, but asked him to put his design ideas into implementation and he sent me work-in-progress messages and photos throughout the process.
I cannot give a higher recommendation for a sheath maker, and I have worked with several of the best out there. I've never had a "bad" experience with anyone I've worked with through BF (or elsewhere), but Duramax is, imho, the best of the best.
Some pics of the sheaths:
1. Mini Mean Street Belt Sheath: This is the one I've carried the most. It rides perfectly and the snap is placed just right so it's very easy to open/close.
2. Boss Street LE Scout Style Sheath. The way it fits in is so satisfying.
3. Trough Raider Dangler Style Sheath. It's as sturdy as the blade it houses, and so pleasing to the eye.
4. Fusion Huck Fin Sling Style Sheath. This one uses a shoulder sling that isn't pictured. Check out the beautiful tooling! This has removable hardware so it can be used as a dangler-style sheath also, but I love to carry my larger knives under my arm with a sling these days. Not a common design, but Duramax innovated the straps and it works perfectly for me.
