I am in the process of purchasing a commercial quenchant and am curious about the DT-48 quenchant from Maxim Oil. I have found some info on this stuff from 2011 on KD FORUMS website. Does anyone here have any info on the product/use it? The difference in price between Parks #50 and DT-48 from Maxim Oil is only $21.11 per 5gal. It isn't so much the price that I have a problem with, I like the idea of buying a product that Maxim is producing. But if it doesn't do the job, that is a problem! Any current info on this product would be helpful. Hopefully I haven't missed this discussion somewhere on here that was more recent. If I did I apologize. I will be heat treating 1095 from Aldo.
 
I use it as I couldn't source the Parks50 here in my neck of the woods. I haven't had any problems with it. 1095, W2, hitachi steels all harden properly.
 
I appreciate the response. After a little more research, and the fact that I am not in the position to buy something else if it doesn't work for me and the fact that I do have access to the Parks #50, I am going that route! I am still pretty new to this and I am sure that the product works fine, I'm just not prepared to start testing things I am not sure of. Again I really thank you for the reply!
