I am looking at buying one these as a fixed blade. Anyone have experience or some knowledge of these knives.

MPE

I was searching and these came up as durable d2 steel.
They are given to the israeli defense force.

from what I gather, the arad version has a half tang with finger
grooves on the handle which may or may not match up with
Your grip.

I contacted the owner of dustar and he recommended the dimona
Model with same blade but full tang and brown wooden type handle without
FingerGrooves. The model has a sharpened false edge too.

I contacted knifecenter and they added it to their site for me.

i received it today in the mail...first impressions is that the knife is nice.
i think they sheath is ok but prefer kydex versus the nylon sheath they sent.
the blade is sharp but i wouldnt say it was shave the hair off your arm sharp.
overall i think its a nice durable knife but i do prefer my A1.

I currently own an A1 fallkniven which is fantastic and I bought from
knifeworks since they had a better price overall.

Anyone else have a dimona and care to comment?

I have the Arad1. Satin finish blade and brass guard. I was gifted it in a knife swap and I love it! The blade is 1/4" thick but the grinds give it a nice tapier. The handle is grip contoured and doesn't fit everyone's hand. I have used it to baton wood and make a few walking sticks. Stays very sharp and is not that hard to touch up. I think you will be VERY pleased with one.

A Half Tang?

I have an Arad model, ironically the same one that's pictured in this thread. And from what I can see of how the tang passes through the guard and what I can tell by how it feels in balance in hand, it has a very substantial hidden tang, significantly wider and thicker that the Ka-Bars I have, that extends at least roughly 3/4 into the molded handle just based on pin placement.

The finger grooves fit my hand very well actually, and they'd be easily modifiable if they didn't.

In the few tests I've put it through it feels very durable, as I would expect anything issued to the IDF to be.

Just my .02
