I dusted off this knife to photograph for the "giraffe bone" thread, but after handling her, I got sentimental and decided she deserved her own headline. This was my first Busse. Prior to picking it up (years ago), I had read on other knife forums how Busses were laughably overbuilt, too expensive, and their owners a bit cultish. When this Ash arrived, I was amazed how this relatively heavy knife felt nimble and lighter than its actual weight due to the excellent balance (the dense giraffe bone adds some counter weight to the butt). The fit and finish was excellent, the giraffe bone was beautiful, and it felt reassuringly bullet proof. Now, many Busses later, most other brands feel like toys. Ironically this Ash is one of the few knives that I am unwilling to use. I always think about grabbing a user Ash off the exchange, but despite a plethora of other Busses, I have never quite picked one up.
Thanks Busse/kin for the craftsmanship, and thanks to you forum-ties for hours of fun discussion.
