IIRC mine was a Satin finish Mean Street with Snake Skin handles I bought 10 plus years ago. I should have never sold it.

To keep it mysterious I could say I found it that way after stripping the paint away on the day my wife got her citizenship
But in actuality I scratched the star, fuller and spine pattern through the paint, electro etched it into the steel underneath and used AC to darken the lines and then stripped it...

First Busse was from O2W, arrived on the day of my graduation from high school

I do a lot of camping/backpacking and although my ESEE-5 did the trick, I had been looking into Busse for quite a while, and had my heart set on an original TG because it looked like a great all-around camp knife.

And then the SHe2 was released and I remember saying to my friends when I first saw Jerry's post, "this knife is perfect" -- and it is. The design is everything I wanted in a knife. The 1/4" thickness, the high saber grind, the balance, the length, the handle design and material, the choil.

So despite the disapproval of friends and family for spending $401.95 on a knife when I already had so many, I pulled the trigger. ESEE-5 has seen little use since
