Great video. My dad and my friends always want to know what's so special about Busse and why I only buy them. Now I can show this video to them.

They don't understand the differences between malleable and soft.BAD - Boney Active Duty was run at 61 or 62 if I recall correctly
All great points. However, they have tested many many other knives over the years in the same manner to see which ones perform better than others…. which ones chip, which ones take more damage than others, which ones hold an edge longer. While I agree with you on many of your points regarding edge angle, etc, I can’t help but watch other videos of larger knives/choppers that did much better. I’m NOT saying Busse knives aren’t really good knives but dull after one pass through the rope is just unacceptable. For comparison, look up their video review on the Tops Storm Vector, the Dulo Leuku, Malanika Leuku or the TRC Apocalypse. These knives are all around $400 , Tops Storm Vector was around $200 but it’s discontinued.David, geometry cuts.... the edge angle and thickness on some Busse choppers are to optuse for edge retention testing.
Take any knife with a very thin geometry and edge angle of 10dps. It will go through the rope 3-5 times and slice paper.
It's very easy to have a skewed result using the wrong geometry and wrong steel for the wrong purpose.
Tough steels(mid carbon) are for big blades. Big blades are used as you know on non abrasives like wood, on non abrasives the apex dulls from micro damage(chipping and rolling). Tough steels like INFI resists this really well.
All steels damage with use so thats also why ease of sharpening is important. And this INFI also does well.
Their reviews are very entertaining and I do enjoy them but don't watch them if you want feedback on how a knife/steel will really perform. This is just my opinion.
Infi is great for large knives, as Nathan said himself, INFI sets a High standard for the industry.

I’m not sure if the Busse sharpness sheet is cut using the knife it’s shipped with. I have tried cutting the sharpness sheet with the knife it came with, and it would only tear the paper. The thin blades from SYKCO recently have been pretty sharp. Anything from Busse has been more geared towards splitting firewood ( except the Elmax). But it’s all good. I know this going in. If I need it to cut , I know I will need to sharpen it. Busse has the best customer service I have ever experienced. I’m sure if I asked to send one back for sharpening, I could. I have never done that. I can sharpen it myself, without going without my knife for weeks. My TGULB was a little dull when it arrived to me. An hour or so on the mouse pad with 220-1200 grit sandpaper brought it to a razor’s edge.
Some of mine have easily come sharp enough to shave hair. But I actually haven't bought any new ones in a few years.I’m not sure if the Busse sharpness sheet is cut using the knife it’s shipped with. The Mega Ratweiler I got direct from Swamp Rat was hair popping sharp. I received a SYKCO DB 421 second hand, and it was never used/sharpened and it was shaving sharp. The TGULB was much duller than either of these knives. The TGULB is an awesome knife and I didn’t mind taking an hour or so to restore a proper edge. I plan on letting the edge naturally convex from the stropping motion.I’m not sure if the Busse sharpness sheet is cut using the knife it’s shipped with.
