Hey y'all, I'm looking for some help here. I have made a few blades out of pre heat treated steel (saw blades), but I'm looking for something more professional. Problem is, I can't seem to find any good suppliers in the Netherlands. Anyone who can help me in the right direction?
Help is much appreciated!

Achim Wirz in Germany is where a lot of the guys get their steel. You should go by the DKE in April. The folks there can hook you up with most of what you need.

You could also look at smederijatelieralkmaar they sell a lot of knifemaking things.
They are nice people too

+1 Achim is the best. Sometimes I also buy Japanese steels from www.mehr-als-werkzeuge.de

But I buy the bulk of my stuff from Achim. If you would like some of the Aisi names for the steels that Achim als hit me up on lxemergency@gmail.com it took me a while to figure out what each steel is that he sells. He works with German material numbers and that can be confusing sometimes.

I bought some stock from smederijatelieralkmaar yesterday, but only a small piece. I think I'll talk to Achim sometime soon
Thanks y'all for your help!

For my first knife I bought some steel from smederijalkmaar. They have different types of steel but not the high carbon steels (1075/1084/1095).

Has Achim a website or someting else? Or you have to order from him trough email contact?

Alright, good news. I think I've convinced my father to come with me to the DKE. I'll be sure to talk to as much people as possible, gain some new knowledge and hopefully get some contacts for supplies and stuff :)

Just looked at the site of the DKE, looks great. A lot of poeple a comming to the DKE, not only from the netherlands but from other country's too (!). BTW never thought that there where that much knifemakers in the netherlands.
Too bad that I already have something planned for that day, although that is from 1 pm. So I might be able to be there at 9 am.
