Dye/coloring for axe handles. What are you guys using?

Not too bad, havn't ntoiced much difference between that and BLO of course this handle was about as dry as as a stick could get. Five coats and it seems to be back to where it should be! Turned the wood a beautiful dark color, pictures up after I'm done buggering around with that DB head that was used as a prybar.

That looks great.

Yep! That picture is from the last coat I applied this morning (that makes six!) but I was surprised it still had the original handle on it. Saw that stamping and I was shocked. Wish they still made these in Bangor (live 30 minutes away from there) instead of Smyrna Falls which is quite a ride away.

For white sapwood handles I've been trying some clean 80w90 oil my dad had lying around- it gives an even cream/pale yellow tint and finishes the handle to an almost "buttery" smoothness. I did this because I've had some dense white sapwood reject color and end up ugly, so now I just leave the color for the darker handles.

Boiled Linseed Oil has that old-school look & feel to wood. Raw Linseed Oil is fine to but it takes forever to dry and finish.
