Did the fiebings route with fiebings pro leather dye in mahogany. First I washed and scrubbed it with dawn. Used a q tip. Applied 3 heavy coats and baked at 175 for 8 min (lowest my oven goes). Cleaned it up and wasn’t enough for me. So I did 3 more. This time I heated the knife, then painted on. Then baked 8 min. Did that 3 times. Polished it up with some aluminum and chrome polish I have which took off all the excess dye. Still getting some bleed out a little so I’m gonna let it sit overnight and see what happens. Overall, quite happy with the color. I’d prefer a little more amber color than brown but not sure how to formulate amber with these dyes lol.

Great job. It's amazing how it changes the look. I have put Ren wax on afterwards...no bleeding.

Looks great! I have to get up the nerve to try this one day! Lance

Looks great, much better! I did the Fiebings route also after I almost destroyed a knife doing the Rit dye process, instant rust! This 15 was an off colored white bone that wasn’t very even. Looks better in person.

Thanks for the reminder! I plan on dyeing mine this afternoon with scarlet red RIT dye.
The mahogany looks great!
I think I’m gonna do my chestnut collab WT now that I know it came out. Hopefully it’ll maintain a little of the red/pink/orangeish color to the mahogany.

Also gonna do my antique peach seed WT case with the threaded bolsters lol. I like deeper dye than those have. I might do my forum 91 also but I don’t know what color. I don’t think I want them all mahogany.

Thanks for sharing. I dyed a Case 6.575 with Rit dye and I got a few rust spots. I didn't care for that, but it was a working knife - https://www.bladeforums.com/threads/my-dyed-bonestag-case-stockman.1814410/
I did a GEC green bone one with rit to get it a little darker and has some spots start to show also so I stopped. I might get some green fiebings and darken it up a little more now that I’ve tried this trick.

Gonna darker my case bose WT that’s chestnut but a bit light colored soon.
