Dyed my amber bone case stockman

SVTFreak , that turned out nice. How did you cure yours? I suspended mine about 6" above the wood stove for a half hour.

Stuck it in a 200* oven for 8 minutes lol. Might do it again to help is set and ensure all the alcohol is dried out.

I dyed this one grom amber to cherry red with rit a few years ago...
A weensy couple of black spots is all.
Would someone enlighten me on Fiebings?

It’s a leather dye brand. I read to use the pro labeled one. Supposedly the alcohol helps get into the bone pores but I have seen some folks used the oil based and it worked also. And without the salts and water that corrosive to the carbon steel blades. You don’t dunk it also, you just paint it on kinda, then bake, and clean off the excess. It comes right off the metal.
