Dyeing Grivory: Is it Possible?

they turned out awesome, i love the color. Im going to have to grab some rit for mine.

Did you make the sheath? its also real nice!

Yep, Todd and I did. Thanks! Although, at the time I thought a small teklok was a grand idea. I've since decided I'm not a fan of that particular system.

shoot i might have to holler at you for a sheath for my 16 some day. the factiry sheaths are nice but kind of bulky for the knife itself.

I havent used the tek-lok but have been thinking about grabbing one, whats the issue with it?

Scuff it with a gray 3m automotive paint prep scotch brite and paint them tan. That is my next day project.

It looks like you can stain it a shade as evident by some of the pics but nothing drastic. I wanted orange scales so I roughed up the grivory and hit with Rustoleum. Holding up OK thus far.

To me, I just think they're a little too limiting. I prefer MOLLE where available.

Well you could always send it to me.... :)

Well, I could, but I already threw it out. We tried modding it to make it fit MOLLE, but then it was even more flimsy. In the end, I chucked it. As for the handles, they do have a sunburst type pattern that I like.

Yea they look great! I hope mine will turn out close to that. you think if i just used dark green it would be ok?

yea im gunna grab some from amazon and see how they turn out. thats the good thing with the tweeners you got 2 sets of scales so experimenting with one is no biggie!

I used dark brown RIT dye on my peanut butter scales.
