A couple weeks ago I got a great little knife in 1095 from BF maker 1984nitro. (See #1 in first pic). It's a nice basic knife w/no handles & basic grinds/finish, at an insanely great price. But of course I couldn't leave well enough alone. Interesting learning experience, especially about the hardness of ziricote wood, it is tough to work! But here are the end results, after giving it a convex edge, sanding out the blade, rounding the spine, adding the scales and thumb-jimping, and applying a vinegar patina. It is REALLY comfy in the hand, the handle flows into the blade and begs to cut stuff. And super-satisfying to have put together myself!
