I received an E-mail today, ostensibly from E-Bay, requesting that I reply to this question:

I don't understand why you are not answering back.I have made the payment and you said you will provide a tracking number after the payment is done.If you don't replay I am assuring you I will report you at eBay.I am sorry for that but you gave me no choice.Waiting for your answer asap. Thank you!

Mark Barett.

The mesage heading has an item number listed. The message has a different item number listed. An E-Bay search shows neither of them being an active item.

I have never offered anything for sale on E-Bay. For that matter, I have never offered anything for sale on-line, period, although I have posted a couple of trades and have sold knives when people contacted me directly.

What do you think? Scam, or reason for concern?

just send me you social security number and the ones on your credit cards-

ill get to the bottom of this for you

just a few days ago i got one from paypal. it was a phishing scam. i dont use paypal and i hate ebay with a passion, its one big joke to me. i would say its a phishing scam.

If anyone ever gets a message from either of these org.s, that is not concerning a transaction you KNOW about. Forward the message to Spoof@ebay.com and spoof@paypal.com. They will shut them down and get their ISP provider turned off quickly. Do it to help some folks that do not know and might fall for it.
