Eagle Scout Lost

I have (used hand sanitizer to start a fire). It's like gelled alcohol. I squirted some on the kindling and a lot on the end of one stick. I used that stick to light the rest of the kindling. It worked well. I used a lot of it, though.

i did this yesterday at work just to show my buddy how good it works. a 1 sex squirt burned for about 2 min. not bad. after seeing th is i was like i am throwing a small bottle in my bag. not only as a sanitizer but if i need it for fires its there. funny how you think about something one day and the next its a topic on here. great minds think a like.
 
WOW what a story. It is not Bear, it is just a real outdoorsman doing the right thing.
 
Germ-X hand sanitizer is the best for starting a fire. :thumbup:


We also discovered on my last campout that Fritos corn chips smolder for a very long time....:eek:

Nearly as good as a char cloth...!



On the scout.....he lucked out. Got overconfident....but lucked out in the head. Glad to hear he kept his head on straight.

we used to take industrial strength hand sanitizer (in a kitchen where we worked) and set our hands on fire all the time. I can attest that it burns for a while. I took some with me on my last snow campout with the 11 year old scouts, but did not need it.
