Got this today from my wife's uncle Warren Strout out of Canton PA, via my
wife's parents as Warren and his wife are upstate NY visiting their son and his
family, so, I just had to open it ;)

Very nice stag, solid blades both, me likey :)

Here are some quick shots of the knife, not sure who makes these for them;

Thanks Berkley, it sure is a beaut, just sharpened both blades to a nice razor edge
love it, no blade play what so ever, very cool gift.

Nice one, Gary. After the giveaway earlier this year, the only NKCA knife I have left is the R1123 Baby Bullet (Camillus) from some years back.

Merry Christmas to you as well,Gary. That was a fine gift,I love the stag & round bolsters, add the spearpoint, yep,I like it !

That's a beauty Gary! Thanks for sharing those fine photos. Merry Christmas. :)

Thanks guys, just some quick pics before the missus and me went out to see the new
movie National Treasure, and now I have one :)

Anyone have a guess as to what they used for the blades way back then?
G2

Gary ,If I had to guess,I'd guess carbon.

Gary - Beautiful knife. I'm kind of hooked on bone & stag scales right now; the pics are nice.

After the year your family has had, you guys deserve something nice like this. Have a merry one, and don't buy too much stuff for Carter. You don't want to spoil him, now . . .

thx - cpr

Great photos Gary! What polish do you use? Thanks for sharing!
Blessings & Merry Christmas to you!

Thanks Vince, it sharpens up like carbon, yikes! very sharp now...
and thanks guys, I've been a pretty good boy, most of the time
at least when it counts ;) and yes, Carter is doing a lot better
he has a problem with his eyes, they don't track together, but the
doctor, and an eye doctor, both said by 6 months or so he will out
grow that and be ok, so we're hoping that's all it is!

And Shebop, no polish on those, what I do if something needs polished
up is to run it on my buffing wheel with the white jeweler's rouge, pops
a nice shine back on there quickly, but haven't had to do that much.

This is such a nice beefy knife, holds well in the hand, the smaller blade
is a struggle to open, very very strong back spring and little leverage at
that point, but I'd rather have a strong back spring! and such a handy
size blade, really liking this a lot.

I made him a sheath a few weeks ago for his Tim Wright fixed blade, a little
fancier than normal, also gave him a very old BladeForums knife bag, remember those guys? :)
His was worn out, and since my collection has waned and doesn't warrant the need
of such a bag, I gave that to him. He gave me a damascus folder by Bear, which I
really wasn't too fond of, but didn't want to charge him at Christmas time for his sheath
being family and all, so I took that, sharpened it up, but still didn't really fancy it, so today
when the inlaws dropped this off, I had them take the other one back, a win win type of
thing :)

Man I really like the equal end patterns, and when you add the stag, real India Stag, well you get one more exceptional knife, and that is what you have Gary, an exceptional knife!

Btw Gary, will this one get one of those exceptional sheaths you design and make? Man, exceptional knife, exceptional sheath, what an exceptional time of year this is!

Thanks guys, well, it's like the cobbler with out any shoes, it'll be a bit before I am
able to leather her up a little, but leather she'll be :)

Worth mugging you for......

Excellent choice, what a Christmas cracker! Best regards.
