Is early lockup a good or bad thing? I have heard Brous Blades are known for lockup, but the VR-71 I recently purchased, does not lockup nearly as early as the ones I have seen on YouTube. The liner lock is just a hair shy of being flush with the blade....should I be concerned? Will this be an issue down the road?

It's all a matter of personal preference. Some look at early lockup as a sign of the knife being fairly new and thus not being fully broken in. I personally prefer about 50% lockup most of the time, as it gives me a little more peace of mind. That being said, all of my Brous Blades have had quite early lockup and none of them had lockup issues at all.

Actually, here's a picture of the lockup on my current Bionic 2.0. Super early and still locks up like a bank vault.

Her are some pics of the lock up on mine. I am the second owner and it hasn't moved at all since I got it about 8 months ago.
Locks up extremely tight and doesn't budge at all!
Hope this helps brother!

My Chris Reeves Knives always had a lock up between 40% & 90%. That's good for CRK. Once they are broken in they never had a tendency to move much more. I think it depends on the different manufacturers I believe, what's good for one, may not be good for all.
