Just a few questions to ask of the collective experts:
If a Chinook has CPM440V steel, is it a Chinook 1? The box is dated 9/2000.
And if a Military has the same steel, will it have steel liners (or at least visible liners in case the current ones are nested)? I'm told both of the above are PS; does that mean fully serrated or is it really more of a combo as on the ATR's SE?
I was informed of and have been looking for a Military in SV90 with out luck. Was this steel ever an option or have these been discontinued? Thanks for the answers in advance.

That Chinook would indeed be a Chinook 1.

As for the millie it should be a single nested liner not 100% on this one.

If they have a PS as part of the model number they will be combo edge.Thogh I have seen people list a full serrated mille as combo because it has a larger that typical plain edge portion.

The S90V mille was a short run made with carbon fiber handles. It was a 1200 blade run.

Single nested Liner on the older Military Models, from what I have read, Spyderco started the dual Liners with the BG-42 Sprint.

Welcome to the forum Five-O. Yes, only the original Chinook was made in 440V. The 440V Military has a single, nested, partial liner on the lock side. It was made to be as light as possible for the amount of blade, but it can really take a beating. The PS stands for Part Serrated. On the Military, that works out to about 60% plain and 40% serrated. The SE Military as noted has about 3/4 of an inch of plain edge at the tip, so it is sometimes mistakenly called part serrated or combo edge.
