Today, Rob Criswell is most famous for his excellent practical swords. But back in 1997, he was working for Benchmade and making his own knives and swords on the side. This early Criswell was made from a scrap of ATS-34 from a sheet that Benchmade cut blades for their 970 folders. It is flat-ground and -- interestingly -- the bevel is on the back side of the blade, almost as if the knife was intended for a left-handed user. It is a full-length tang with bead-blasted G10 scales held by steel pins. Of special interest is the old Criswell, Beaverton, Oregon tang stamp very clearly on the front of the blade.

It comes with the original Criswell black Kydex sheeth set up for horizontal belt carry.

Being in absolutely mint condition, this knife is a must for any serious Criswell collector.

based on the pictures, it's a chisel grind for a right hander. unless the pictures were inverted?
