East Tennessee Survivalist Gathering (Important Update)

Sorry, I been busy since I got home this afternoon. I found 3 sites that would be perfect for what we wanna do. The first one is Campsite 1, next Jake Best, finally Campsite 9. They are all off the same road, just further up. Campsite 1 is first, Jake Best the next and Campsite 9 is the last.

I wanna use Campsite 9, but depending on if there are people there are not, we can use Jake Best or Campsite 1. Campsite 1 is actually outside of the Forest Boundary but still usable.

I will have a sign posted up with ETSG in big black letters over the Campsite sign at the one we will be using. They are all off the same road, so once you pass Campsite 1 and there is no sign, Keep going to Jake Best, no sign, Keep going to Campsite 9. They are numbered sequencially, so its easy to find.

The Cedar is a bit of a let down, I gotta try to find some more or something else entirely to use for the bow drills. But the Red Oak and Hickory are going to be perfect.

Everyone will need to use 2890 Citico Road, Vonore TN. for a final destination on their GPS/Mapquest. This is the last known address on Citico road, and that point starts the forest. Continue on Citico Road until it turns to gravel, and go some more. It will go back to asphalt, and back to gravel again. You will see Cherokee National Forest Campsite # signs as you travel. Look for the ETSG sign over the Campsite sign, for our final location.

Once again, Kabar/Becker and myself will be sponsoring the rewards for the competitions.

Dress and pack for COLD weather, as it will be in the low 40's to upper 30's in the evenings. Gathererers can arrive as soon as Friday morning.

Post here, or email me, or PM me if you have any questions or comments. I will be leaving Thursday of this week to get the grounds, so after that, I will have no cell or internet connectivity, so I won't be able to answer. There is a BP at the turn off of 411 HWY onto Citico Road, it will be your last place to gather anything you may need.

I hope to see all of ya'll there, we gonna have sum fun.

And don't forget, field trip to Ethan's place on Saturday!!!

Get some good pictures and if there's a decent turn out, start planning a future (spring?) camp out:D I'll be up in the Pisgah National Forest, NC this weekend and expecting temps to dip in the low 40's/upper 30's. We were up there this past spring and it froze on us which I wasn't expecting.

Looking foward to some fly fishing! Ours is a little less organized (something I'm going to try and fix), but the boys are getting excited...it's actually a nice, remote area that you can 4x4 into.

Hope you guys have a great time!

Thanks, I hope you do as well. And yes, there is a spring gathering already in the works. Sponsors, giveaways, contests, the whole 9. I hope this turn out will be enough to spark a larger one next spring. Moose

Ok, this'll be the last bump in this thread. This is the weekend, so, if you can clear it on your calendar and are close by, you are invited to attend. I will be heading out tomorrow to get setup, so I won't be available via electronic dogleash (cell) or internet. Info is posted with directions. I hope to see ya'll there. Moose

I should be there guys, if yall see a dipshit driving around in a green ranger looking confused, flag me down. :D

I wish I wasn't in the middle of a project. You guys better bring back some pics!!!

Oh, and don't forget about Joezilla's fire training on Nov 20-22, I'm going to that one DEFINETLY, so you can count me in, Mr. Zilla. Moose
