Easter Goodies ?

I'm closing in on the earliest Craftsman knife dates and patterns. Seven catalogs down and twelve to go. And then those Christmas Wishbooks. Only need eleven of those. Contributions welcome! :D

I didn't get much from the Easter bunny, but what I got was nice enough. I came across an old 787 improved muskrat in nice used condition ($25), a 194OT in same condition ($20), and an Imperial electricians knife in almost new condition ($8). First two from flea markets, last from an antique shop. May have paid too much, but I really like the 194OT, and the 787 looks like it may actualy have bone scales. Were they ever made with real bone?

OK, here's a scan of them. Unfortunately, my scanning skills don't quite measure up to my scanner's capabilities, and my photography skills are even worse. Like I said, the 787 doesn't have quite full blades, and obvious discoloring. The 194 looks to be a full blade. Like I said, I really like the 194OT. If I weren't even more partial to the LB3, I would probably use it as my EDC.

I forgot what the Easter bunny left at my house while I was visiting family in Ohio. This Mac Tools knife came in from an ebay auction. I was shocked at how big this thing is. The handle is about 5" long, and I'm guessing the blade is around 4 1/4". I thought it was going to be the size of a run-of-the-mill barlow!

This weekend produced a Craftsman 9481

I can't tell much from the "Lost in Space" photo, but I hope it is better than the one I have. Here is the info on it:
9481 - SW 293 2 bl. 3 7/8" Trapper, Staglon (1971)

The Craftsman 9481 arrived today and it is pristine as issued other than a few pepper spots on the carbon steel blades, though no box or papers. Here is a scan so you can see that you aren't the only one who has problems getting decent scans.

#9481 was the Sears Craftsman varient of the base pattern, 293, circa 1971.

293 was the base open stock pattern, an older one going back to at least 1954, likely earlier.

94OT was the Old Timer variant introduced circa 1976.

285UH was the Uncle Henry variant introduced circa 1969.
