Well, this is blade number 4, though only the second knife completed-
My son is 4, and a bit knife crazy about cutting fruits and veggies and "working with Da", so I've made this one for him. I'm sick of throwing away the plastic ones. The tang is drilled for pins so that I can put scales on when he gets a bit bigger, and I can always regrind the point a bit later. Overall length is 5.75 inches, it's an old saw blade as stock, so I cheated a bit and the filework is from the saw's tooth pattern
I'll finish the sheath tonight, but it's a very simple one, he's not allowed to carry it on his belt or have it in his drawer or anything yet, so mommy and da hold onto it up on the knife rack.
That and a chocolate bunny and he'll have a nice easter.
This is one that's getting closer, the seax blade. The handle doesn't quite match the type, but I'm playing with it:
