Eastwind resin bonded belts?

Anybody familiar with these? I've been very curious about them since I first came across them on a lapidary supply site. Diamond grits as low as 1/4 micron, carefully graded for high end gem polishing, and the belts themselves sound perfect for convexing. They're sized for 6 and 8" expanding drum polishers, so 18 + inches long for the 6" belt. That's a lot of surface that could be mounted to a block or rolled up in a ditty bag. Just wondering if anybody has come across these in person and if they might work for edged tools.

Those look pretty darn useful. If they're made for high end gem polishing, I'd think they'd be a cinch for edged tools, too. Can't help but wonder how expensive they might be, though. Diamond + BIG surface area sounds like it might be pricey(?).

Hey, you could sharpen ceramic blades with those... now if only they made one for a Kalamazoo!
