Easy-open knives

Buck 301 or 303. Allegedly the backsprings are "weak" with a pull of "only" 3 to 4.
However! The only job the backspring has is to prevent the blade from flopping open when closed, and half closed, when open.
The allegedly "weak" Buck 301/303 backsprings perform that job quite well.
On both my 301's, the blades all "snap" (AKA: "Walk and Talk") when opened and closed.
I've never liked having to fight with my knife to open it. Especially when my hands are cold and/or wet. (or seen much sense in a knife that needs a "steel thumbnail" tool, to open it.)
I've never had a Buck 301, or any other slipjoint with (so-called) "weak" backsprings/easy to open blades, or friction folders try to close on my fingers, in over 60 years of using them.

Victorinox/SAK Huntsman/Fieldmaster, Recruit/Cadet, Farmer, Tinker/Super Tinker, etc.
Personally, I find the punch/awl of the recruit much more useful than the fingernail file of the Cadet.
I prefer the 2 and 3 layer knives.
My "go to" SAK since 2000 or 2001 has been the Huntsman. (The differance between the Huntsman and Field Master is the Fieldmaster has a real phillips screwdriver, while the Huntsman has the more traditional corkscrew. The rest of the blades/tools are the same.)

Easy Open Jack (see post 39 for photo) Available with one or two blades. Main blade can be a clip point, spear point, and now with the Rough Rider Reserve line, a One-Armed.

Svord friction folder, or other knife with an extended tang.
