Easy-To-Find Italian Ideas?

My mother is on a spur-of-the-moment trip to Rome to help a friend out who’s had some bad luck. She won’t be traveling around, or even have tons of free time, it’ll mostly be at the hospital. My question: any thoughts on where in Rome she can easily find a decent traditional to bring back for me? Or even what to tell her to be on the lookout for? She knows nothing about knives, and I don’t want her shlepping some gaudy piece of garbage back through customs.

Little known local availabilities? Regionally appropriate and accessible folders? Any help is appreciated!
