Eating bugs

There is a grub that grows in wood here, the huhu grub, its rather large (finger size) and its head is best avoided but the body is ok, kind of woody/peanuty flavoured, but definately easier to eat if roasted on a fire than raw and wiggling.
If you think about it crayfish and crabs are a lot like spidrers and cockroaches...

Thanks you guys, you are all awesome in my book -no stigma here. I know about all the other parts of the world where eating bugs is normal and I have always thought that many of us Americans are a little pussified about it (because of our cultural conditioning -including me). I really want to come around and get used to some insects, bugs, and slimers. I dont think I will actualy do it unless I have a friend to do it with me though (or maybe to gross out)...

Banana slugs... WOW I never thought of slugs. There are a lot of banana slugs in Oregon and they get big. I would definately have to roast one or soup it.

Thanks again for sharing you guys, I was expecting some good comments, and you all threw down.
