Since Egay removes any listing that's too "weaponlike", is there another auction that accepts knife auctions? I watch the exchange here, and sometimes gunbroker.

That's odd. I see all sorts Tactical knives, compound bows, swords and axes on eBay. I know not everybody is a fan of the site but lets keep degrading statements more detailed or at a minimum factual...;)

:)

I think the WRITTEN DESCRIPTION of an item on the 'bay will make all the difference, with regard to how many eyebrows are raised. I see virtually no restriction imposed on knives, as long as the written description is kept basic & simple (make, model #, vintage, condition, etc.). Their policy doesn't allow automatics (switchblades), but I occasionally see even those slip under the radar, because they're not specifically described as such in the listing.

I had an Art Valois custom belt buckle knife pulled because it was a "weapon". They also won't list push daggers etc. (they used to, but stopped it).

Yeah, it's all in the wording. I listed a knife once, and called it a "push dagger"(it was a replica katar) and it was pulled, and I received some kind of bad rating on my account for like 6 months. I just reworded the thing, relisted and sold it.
eBay used to be a cool place to buy and sell just about anything, kind of like an online swap meet, now it's so regulated:thumbdn:.

I had a grip pulled because of the axis lock!

Not to worry. Knowing Ebays vast knowledge of knives:barf:, they probably stopped your ad because the word axis may be related to the Nazis, which is bad! Shame on you:D

I buy 8 out 10 of my knives off of different forums. BF mainly. If I can't find what I want on one of them I check dealers if no prevail I'll ebay last option.

To my knowledge Ebay does not ban any knives except autos due to a) Federal Switchblade Act and b) they're based in California which is, well, California.

I have bought bayonets, swords, folding knives, fixed blade knives, daggers, axes, hatchets, clubs, spear heads and canes off of Ebay. I even got a few autos that the censors missed.

As far as my family is concerned, it's a toss up between a Boy Scout bugle and a set of bagpipes being the worst "weapon" that I bought on Ebay. :D

Generally speaking, a belt buckle knife has more physically in common with a push dagger than a traditional knife. the BBK is also not exactly what one would call a traditional styled knife, it's concealed as opposed to say a sheathed fixed blade or a folder in a pouch, etc. That might be why you are perceiving things the way you are. There is always liability and legality issues and I imagine that eBay is protecting themselves. Not all knives are legal in all places.

Balisong knives are also not allowed, some places do not allow them.

^ Thanks for reminding me, Zygote.

If I could take the beautiful California coastline/waves with me- I would've happily left this State 10+ years ago. Hell, even a decent wave pool down in Texas is sounding a whole lot better than living in this idiotic F-ed up State! :torn:

Not intending to get too political here; but when Ted Nugent, stated so eloquently in an interview: "A whole gaggle of numbnuts & DON'T TREAD ON ME!" He was referring to 2 Californian's (& should've included a 3rd- NP)...this is one of my favorite YT video's of all time! :D

^ Probably better served in the Political sub-forum...regardless, one of my absolute favorite interviews of all-time!!!

As for Ebay: I don't shop there often, but on occasion, I've been able to find some pretty hard to find tactical looking knives over there.

Ebay is fine if you do it right, even 7 years ago. I don't understand what ^you are talking about here though.
