Ebay and Why do people do this?

Wow, I think you need to look around more.

There are a few deals on ebay......but if you've NEVER found better deals than what's on ebay you don't look in the right places.

Try Froogle.

Fair enough, maybe I've been fooling myself. Let's try a few example knives, both recently sold on ebay:

On May 9th someone bought a PE FRN Delica, NIB, for $24.50 plus $6.00 shipping = $30.50 delivered.

An SE FRN Delica, also NIB, went for $27.05 plus $4.00 shipping = $31.05 shipped.

Best I found through Froogle was $42.00 plus $7.00 shipping for the PE FRN Delica = $49.00

If you can find better deals than the ones on ebay I'd sincerely like to know about them.

Clint, haven't you EVER met a dumb person?
If so, I wish I was more like you. :)
I've learned what they look like. So when I see one (IRL) I avoid them (like the plaque they are:)) Online, well, sometimes they come after you!:):)

A 100 geniuses working for 100 years cannot guarentee something will go right, but ONE idiot in ONE instant can make EVERYTHING go wrong!

Although I doubt the Boye Dent is really to prevent accidental closing by "fleshy hands;" It seems it would improve the thumb grip on the lock bar. This would in turn make one hand closing easier.

Of course, I have no first hand knowledge. This is a guess.

What can be wrong with the Boye Dent?

BTW, Mr Clark, good idea.

I have owned several Police models and the ones that I owned that lacked the boye dent were much easier and faster for me to close one handed (perhaps because that was the first Spyderco I owned and just got use to it). I never had a problem with those that didn't have the dent closing on my hand so I didn't really see the need or care for that upgrade. Another reason I don't really care for the dent to much is because I just don't like the way it looks when compared to the locks that are flush with the handle. This is one of the reasons I like my Manix so much. I just hope Spyderco decides to come out with a SS handled Manix someday.
