Ebay: Deals and Steals

My most recent good deal was a new Blade-Tech Mouse Lite for $12.00, about 2 weeks ago.

Best ever was a 90's vintage Winchester Cartridge series coke bottle with candy stripe scales for 30 and change.

My most recent one was a Kershaw JYD II Composite for USD54 inclusive of shipping to Singapore... Not really an amazing deal but then most sellers won't even ship out of the US so beggars can't be choosers. I've dealt with a few other sellers but stuck with this one, his prices are reasonable without resorting to exorbitant international shipping charges. USD7.99 for shipping on all folders... Pretty amazing considering most online stores charge a minimum of USD20 for the same USPS service (USPS 1st class inter.).

Previous great buys were 2 BNIB Spyderco Endura 3 for USD23 with USD12 for shipping to Singapore. Gifted them to 2 of my closest buddies.

Slightly OT... Never had a bad deal on eBay as a buyer but I won't be selling there anytime soon due to a bad experience shipping to Spain and Italy (non-knife). Selling on eBay is always a gamble.

Al Mar folder era 1980s aluminum handle for 36. Case Barlow pre 70s for 36. Both in very good condition. The steel on that Al Mar is...well, it is an Al Mar. I found that I can get good deals if I am patient, and have the time to snipe at the last minute. I avoid bidding wars.

not a knife steal but I got a copy of the ring, first edition illustrated by arthur rackham for 20 dollars.

well maybe its not so much of a steal since the economy tanked and the book collections got released but still, from 200 to 20 in one year is a steal to me! I collect illustrations for personal enjoyment and not investment though.

I do most of my buying on ebay, so most knives were slightly below retail value. Some of my more memorable purchases was a new kershaw boa in cpm440v for $50, a lot containing a new schrade usa 330T, new case cv sodbuster jr, and a kent slippie for $20 shipped, and 2 CS carbon v knives for about $60 total.

A mint 70's era Parker-Frost Scharade stockman with bone scales for 30.00
A mint 70's era Kershaw german made boot knife with stag scales for 150.00
A mint 70's era Benchmade Tak Futukua folder for 36.00
A mint 80's era Parker-Edwards Demascus folder (a Buck 110 style) with stag for 60.00
Thats just recently

strider Sng for about 300 brand new. =] there was like 30min left when i saw it and it was late at night and i guess no one really bid on it

I don't know how good of a deal these would be considered but I thought I got a good deal. Grabbed a D'Allara on a BIN for 59 and it came with a collector number. Also grabbed a Spyderco Blackhawk for 36 bucks a few months ago.

I got a perfect micarta handled, 440C Buck 503 for $12 shipped. No box, but the knife looks like it had never been used after at least 25 years (no date stamp and old script B in Buck).

I haven't bought a knife on ebay in a long time because people don't post pictures, and if there is a picture it's usually swiped from the manufacturer's website.

A Spyderco Woodlander, I just won NIB for 111.50. Which is a 200 dollar knife at discount, 319.95 retail.

Hearing about all of these finds on eBay is really making me want to get an account and start looking around for my next purchase!

I got my Fixed Griptilian for just under $50.00 shipped, and my KaBar Impact for about $40.00.

I also bought a few of my Mini Griptilians at around the $50.00 mark!

Best I've done is a $25 barely used Endura 4. In fact, it's the only Ebay bid I ever won. Love the knife :).

In my 'ebay seller' learning period some folks got some real steals from me. The misspelling trick can get you some excellent deals also.
