ebay fake alert

Kinda strange that the seller answers all questions with Dear Friend. Anyways, that is disgusting. I hate people stealing deigns that people worked on hours to perfect.

Yep, that's pretty sad all right, but I doubt that this sort of practice really makes any impact in Chris Reeve Knive's bottom line. Folks buying these knives will not do so thinking they're getting the real deal, and you or I looking for more (genuine) CRK's will know where to go to find them. I don't think these guys are stealing customers.

I'd also guess that there's little risk that a knife afficionado will see one of these in someone's collection, or borrow and use one and have it break and then think that (all) CRK's are no good.

Don't get me wrong, the guy selling these is a thief and his customers are likely mall ninjas and twits, but I doubt that CRK sees them as any threat to their business or potential customers. If someone started forging some of my work I'd be (a bit, at least) flattered. Kinda means "you've arrived" when you see that kind of thing happening.

That said, this guy should be prosecuted for forgery or trademark infringement or something. Good on you too, crackerjax; I'm sure he'll be appreciative of the tip.

If it says location China that's all you need to know-The chinese have no regard for anyones intellectual property-:thumbdn:-----Regards Butch

The thing is people do buy them, like the CRK Trolls, then do vids of a CRK failing !!! There have even been people here on the forum that have bought them. I know personally I would never even spend a penny on these. I report these fake CRK everytime I see them, but ebay continues to let them be listed. I even put them on my watch list sometimes to see if the auction is cancelled, but they never are. Its Just Plain Bull S**T !!!

I love the handle material description

A: dear friend,most material is flax ,power plastic,little paper product,Epoxy resin,thanks,best regards

Mostly flax and "power" plastic?

The seller's greeting is weird, his english sucks and he is a liar, woohoo!

If you have a second, reporting them would be a good idea. Enough people doing so may actually get the items removed.

Typical of Chinese fraudulent sellers.

I reported all the listings that are still up.

I love how these are made by Schrade. A name that used to mean quality in the US, then a Chinese company buys it and produces knockoffs.

Why don't these companies try to make something original?

Making something original would cost a lot of money for R&D. Copying something else is a simply creating a CAD file. :(

Really comes down to the dinero for them. That and there is demand for knockoffs.....somebody is buying this crap. Think of it this way. When you see a woman with a designer handbag, there is a good chance it is fake. At the least in the low income neighborhoods, where I spent the last year unfortunately.

well I was thinking with the "schrade" knife it looks alot alike and the handle is almost a direct copy I don't know if CRK has a trademark on the handle or not. but it did not directly say it was CRK.

I have been reporting him everyday I also printed out the listings and sent them to CRK by mail

Q: Is this knife made in China or the United States?
A: dear friend, this knife is made by a chinese factory who had beeb authorized to produce this knife, the quality is almost the same good, but the price is so great,it is well worth for you to having one.best regards.

Ah Jebus....I had to go take a drink after reading that.

That's just what I was going to point out.

That knife is listed in the Taylor Brand Schrade web catalog so I don't think it's an illegal copy.

The others, however...

may not be illegal since it is made in china, but it is definitely not authorized.

nor are the other schrade extreme models that "resemble" crk knives.
