eBay Fraud for Beck WSK??

Hello Frank, Are you still there,
Thanks for your help and input. I have still not decided what action to take. I am just glad I didn't send the money. I do have another problem though, I don't have the Beck knife I wanted.

I hear you man,but you have your $1500 ;) best thing to do is see if you know someone in his area that can actually pick this knife up.Thats the only way I would deal with him. I'm sure another Beck will come around.Just hold that money tight.

I'm glad to here that you have ordered a Linger WSK as well. It looks like a great knife and Just by communicating with Mr. Linger, he sounds like a great guy, and a trustworthy businessman. After this little problem that makes a lot of difference. By the way, how did you know? I mean I'm glad you did, because it really helped me, just curious and thankful.

I just had a bad feling about that guy.I also rememebred the pics and the price it went for.Intuition I guess...LOL

Roger is 100% one of the best people I have ever dealt with.I have no doubts in my mind that his WSK will be just as good or better then the Beck.From my e-mails and conversations with Roger I can tell he is a man that puts his ALL into what he does....Just my 2cents anyway...

Hi Michael, what's being said about Mr. Linger is true. He is a great maker and super person. Go to the shoptalk forum and take the time to read the Tacticals made by us thread and you will read first hand what a terrific man he is. You can rest assured you will be well taken care of by Roger.

I would have to agree on the sentiment about Roger. I have ordered two knives from him thus far and he has been a joy to deal with. He's a stand up businessman and a right nice guy. You can't go wrong ordering from Mr. Linger.

As for the eBay situation this is what I did when I ran into a similar case. I was selling a bike frame and parts and plainly stated in my auction that I don't ship outside the U.S. So it sits for a few days with a little action then this guy from South Africa kills my auction with Buy Now. He sends me an e-mail saying he has a friend in my area who can pick up the bike and he wants to send me payment by some escrow account money order and gives me the web address. So while I'm thinking about this I do a little research on this escrow service. It looked like a made up site, not very professionally done with a lot of dead links and what looked like bogus info. So I send him an e-mail and tell him not to bother sending payment, I don't ship outside the states and his escrow service looked fraudulent. I told him that I would not leave feed back for him at all and if he left me negative feedback I would contact eBay’s fraud department with all the info I had. He didn't leave feedback and I never heard from him again. Hope this help.

I remember speaking to him several months ago, he said then that he had about 25 WSKs to finish up and he would be selling them on eBay or something. Said he didn't know when he would get to them exactly because of some renovation work he was doing to his house and shop. Don't know how much he had left to finish on them or if he's gotten to them or not but I guess it would be worth a try. Best way to get a Beck is from the man himself.

Thanks for the link to my site. Roger Linger has made 4 custom knive for me so far, and a 5th is in the works. He is a great guy to deal with and makes one heck of a knife take can handle alot of abuse. You all will really love your knives. :D

I know that everyone has said that mr.beck has stopped making the wsk, but somebody else told me that he may come back. I was just wondering if he is or not :confused:

When last I spoke to Mr. Beck he said that he had about 25 WSKs to finish up and sell but after that he was not going to make anymore. He said he may start making his more traditional designs again but it would only be part time in small numbers. Best thing to do I would guess is give him a call and see if his situation has changed.

Looks like the auction has been invalidated by eBay, as the page does not exist anymore. I received an email from the seller of the original valid auction of the WSK set, and he said that he reported the recent fraudulent auction that used his own images and description.

Michael, I assume you received notification about this, right? I'm glad you did not get "burned", like some of us have in the past.

Jeff the link that you gave me doesn't work i was going to try him but it just comes up with the aol main site or what ever it is, or it maybe i just dont know what im doing. :confused: I wanted to send Dave a email
