eBay "Michiganknives"

Guys, I know you are a good bunch of chaps. This is one of the best forums on the net and HI products are first rate in my book. No offense taken. I'm not perfect by any estimation, but I'm trying to be honest with my e-bay ad wording. Thanks for letting me clarify any misunderstandings. As always, I'm reachable by e-mail.

Regards,
Bill

LOL!!! :)

Yeah, I guess it would all depend on how one takes it, no pun intended ;)

If one is being called such a name because of one's own personal natural gift, then yes, it would most certainly be taken as a compliment.

On the other hand, there is a saying that goes something like.... "You are what you eat", in which case I would then not like to be referred to as a "Donkey Schlong"! LOL!!!! ;)

Jeeesus Jimmy. Aren't you going a little out of your way to seek out bad intentions and promote bad interpretations? Almost sounds like a game of "let's you and him fight". Frankly, I mistrust Andy's intentions far less than I do yours. Perhaps there is a real "donkey Schlong" among us after all.

I hope you are kidding............ right?

It was all a joke right from the get go. The whole "Donkey" thing was originally said in jest, and my follow up joking around about it, was also in jest :)

If anyone is trying to make something out of this, then just take a look in the mirror to discover who

I have no problem with michiganknives re-selling H.I. products. In fact I encourage it!

Look at it this way...Yangdu has already been paid for the knives. Good for the kami's.
Michiganknives has a good detailed auction with FANTASTIC pictures. good for the kami's.

He's getting a great product out to a segment of the net that Yangdu doesn't have the time to tap into. you know the drill.
Even if half of the people hitting his auctions are repeats that's still a lot of people getting a good look at H.I. products.
H.I. product get's into the hands of some newbies...the want more?, they now have a name of a great producer...H.I.

What Steely said. I offer up my apologies too. We are a protective bunch here... but if you are holding up the good name of HI and Yangdu is happy, more power to you.

i'm in complete agreement. I bought a khuk from michiganknives that he had already purchased from Yangdu. A lot of people participated in the auction, and those that didn't win are still hungry. Just stimulates more business for Yangdu.

whats a schlong?
is that like a bolo?

It's a rare blade from Borneo that is only found in the central highlands. Quite valuable I'm told. It resembles a shiv except that it's much longer.

people buy and sell knives --people buy and sell khukus...

it makes the world turn

maybe eveyone can get excited when I put my collection on ebay that would be good to get the traffic up

looks like "medbill" just scored the 20 inch AK (neem!) and the 22 inch GRS.

the prices were very tempty tempty, but didn't include about $15 in shipping/ins, and yangdu wasn't the person selling, so i was not very sharky at 10ish am EST, medbill was, so ... :)

it's interesting that the full warranty IS apparently included by Yangdu from a reseller, though i'd love to hear Yangdu say that, then i might be more tempted to buy something that doesn't come along in a DOTD. i AM still looking for two items in that range, and was tempted, just had concerns on warranty, and where my money is going. i can wait. my paychecks aren't in yet at any rate.

medbill, you'll have to tell us how your blades are when you get them. wednesday, probably end of week if you're lucky. nobody beats yangdu on shipping speed.

Nice snags medbill! I have a 20" Ak with habaki bolster from Amtrak, but that one was particularly nice. The handle on the GR was gorgeous. Again, I have a satisal one at 22.5" and 42 oz. and that one is slightly heavier but a great piece of work. The prices you paid were spot on. Very cool knives! Michiganknives has a bunch of other nice knives from all different mfrs. Looks like a good operation.

Wow I missed this wonderfully hilarious thread all weekend. Dayum me for working on sheaths and blades all weekend.

Of course I was playfully joking with my comment toward you Bill. I don't think Jamesray was trying to do any worse either. I really enjoyed reading all the banter though. You are both my brothers in forum. If we were together we could all punch each other on the shoulder and drink our beers and laugh. It would be fun. We'd all be too busy showing off our large curved knives to argue much. Unless there was only one pretty woman nearby. You are both great guys. Laugh it off.

I'm sure you're right Andy. I never thought you were doing anything but joking since we had already has several pleasant exchanges. But I had had no previous discourse with James, so it was harder to know for sure. The notorious problem with email and forum exchanges is that, since you cannot see the person you're conversing with, it's easy to misjudge intent. And, now that I've slept on it, I believe that's what happened with James.

JimmyJ, if you're still out there, please accept my apology. If you were out here I would buy you a beer and tell you how bad you had me going there for minute. Unfortunately, it only takes a minute to dash off an e-message that you'll have plenty of time to regret later. The whole thing seems hilarious now. Hope you can see it the same way. Peace.:o

No problem, buddy :)

And as far as me being a true "Donkey Schlong",........... yeah, but only in the gifted sense of the meaning, (if only that were true) ;) LOL! :)
