Not a new story, but a new twist.
My eBay password has not worked for over a week. Repeated promises by computers and "live chat" reps to send a temporary password so I could get inta' my account resulted in zip.
Yesterday, I finally received this story. My password was changed due to "a security measure."
Why was I not notified before? No answer.
Why was I not sent a temporary password? Answer (Brace yourself!): "Damon" at eBay says there is a "problem" with Yahoo Mail that is preventing the emails from reaching me.
Not, you understand, that I have put an eBay address on the "blocked" list for my Yahoo mail account. No ebay addresses are on my "blocked" list.
Not that the emails are being sent to my spam file (which I check 100% anyway.) All eBay emails have been received over the many months in my Inbox.
Just a "problem" with Yahoo Mail.
Well, since I have been getting 4-8 emails from eBay every day (between what are essentially ads and response to my efforts to get back in my account), this "problem" apparently only stops emails from eBay with temporary passwords.
If ebay KNOWS of this "problem," why are they sending the temp passwords from a blocked address? No answer.
Is this a great company, or what?
Can I pay for items I won? No. :grumpy:
Can I give feedback to the nice guy who sent me an item like lightning? No.
Can I waste more $$ on knives that I don't really need? No.
