Just curious if anyone has heard about EBay changing its Firearm and Knives Policies---it appears that they will no longer allow the listing and sales of firearm parts and related items---WILL THIS AFFECT KNIVES ALSO???

It's supposed to happen this month sometime---

I hadn't heard that. That sucks. I've gotten alot of gun parts and accessories from Ebay. I don't think it will affect knives, since knives have their own categories. Gun parts have always been listed under the hunting or militaria categories.

Well,,,I hope it does not affect knives also, because I sell some knives on EBay myself---I sold various WW2 gun parts on EBay, but I guess I will need to go to Gunbroker.com now! With EBay being in California, who knows anymore. I do have to say that they will be losing a major part of their business if this happens. What bothers me is that the rules are listed under EBay's Firearms, Weapons and Knives Policies---so who knows how they will word it---

I've used GunBroker once. I ordered what was described as a custom done, beautiful wood stock for an SKS. What arrived at my door wasn't fit for firewood. It looked like it had been carved by a blind man with a dull chainsaw. The seller refused to admit that it was anything but the finest stock ever made for a rifle, and refused a refund. I know that it was an individual seller and not Gunbroker's fault, but I haven't went back since. I guess I'll be trying my luck there again soon though.

Ebay has gotten way to big for their britches and they are going to get their a-- handed to them one of these days when a viable competitor arises. They've got a virtual worldwide monopoly on online auctions right now, but they can't keep imposing their political positions on buyers and sellers for too long before people start looking elsewhere. Personally I can't wait until it happens.

And of course it's just a matter of time before knives are banned also.

Funny this came up cause I just got an email today from Paypal saying my account was suspended due to a Firearms transaction. I've never done an internet firearms transaction nor ever paid or received payment for a firearms transaction using paypal, the only thing I could figure was someone paypal'd me for a Busse AK47 sword but didn't put Busse in the description for his payment title. (What a Croc) Needless to say I won't be using PP anymore regardless if they unfreeze my account or not!

Lots of luck.

It takes a lot of money and people to run something like eBay. A number of companies have tried and failed. I can only think of Yahoo off the top of my bald head. Gunbroker seems to be the biggie in the firearms auction business. There is also auctionarms.com, but they are not as big. KF has a gun forum, but hardly anyone uses it.

That email wasn't from paypal. It was from a crook phishing for passwords. If you clicked on the link in the email and gave any information to the website it took you to, start canceling your accounts and credit cards and whatever else you compromised NOW. :(

I actually called PP after I typed in their PP address and it took me to my log on screen where I had to enter my password and all of the info was the same. I also know it was legit because the girl I spoke with was able to unfreeze my account so I could withdraw my remaining balance. I was over the $500.00 on withdrawls already for the month so for sure it was legit.

Hmm, that's odd... I didn't know paypal had any restrictions, thought that was only for Ebay. Since paypal is a purely financial front. Most times when I paypal, I don't even put the correct "title/label" for what I bought.

I'm pretty sure ebay owns paypal.

I would be a little careful about that. It could come back and bite you in a charge-back situation.

Good! For anyone else who gets an email you think might be genuine, you type in the address, too; don't follow the link in the email.

Paypal was owned by other antis before Ebay bought them out; they've always been owned by antis.

Go to Guns America if you don't like Gunbroker. www.gunsamerica.com

I've had nothing but good luck on both sites.

Always ensure you're buying from a seller who offers a 3-day inspection, etc....

Paypal has amazingly been becoming more gun friendly, opposit of eBay. They are allowing certain pre-authorized individuals to accept PAYPAL for guns and ammo now.
