It's next weekend! Who'll be there? I know I will!

(Mods, I'm aware, wrong forum, but I feel like it will get more replies here)

This thread is breaking my heart.
I compromised with the wife this year and instead, we are going to Virginia in may for a week to visit family and make it a road trip with the kids.
So all funds are for that. But next year is mine.
I had so much fun last year. I got to play with so many toys and meet many awesome makers , it was like my own personal super bowl. It also made me feel normal, because alot of the guys that went seemed much crazier than myself with the whole knife hobby/addiction.
You boys better get some good photos. I know sharp by coop does that for the most part, but I want some poor quality aerial shots.

This is my first event . I have been to plenty of Gun and Knife shows but this is the first with National and International makers and I am really looking forward to it. I have tried to go a few times but some financial problem always got in the way. I am driving from MA with my wife and plan on going in and having fun . Of coarse I am diverting my wife to some other activity so she cannot see my dark side of knife collecting.

You'll have a table? I'll check you out for sure! No homo!

Let me know which makers you like and I'll get you the worst quality pics you can imagine! :D

Just a spectator . Should be fun .

My first event as well... I wanted to go to the NYCKS but couldn't make it a few month's ago... Looking forward to this one!

I will be shooting for Friday. Somehow just about everyday this week I drove into work thinking about how the first thing I needed to do was put in for the day, and drove home cursing about how I forgot.

Luckily? I have been kinda cranky lately so shouldn't be an issue to get some time off.

How does one know which days the lotteries are? I don't want to miss them!

Found out from 50/50 productions.

Friday:

2PM- Allen Elishewitz
3PM- Elizabeth Loerchner
4PM- RJ Martin

Saturday:
4PM- RJ Martin

Cell phone lotteries: Kirby Lambert

TtT... heading there tomorrow bright and early and bringing a couple of fellow knife junkies... took off from work and I'm amped to check it out!

Dragging my (awesome and very patient) girlfriend there tomorrow! Looking forward to it.

had a good time but there was a lot less stock than I had expected to see. On the bright side, I scored a Lambert via the lottery. No idea what model but it's pretty awesome

Congrats for the lottery score they were some beautiful pieces . I made a list of three makers I was going to buy from. I got a puukko for puukko pekka one of two traditional blades he brout and scored a Dozier utility folder dressed in CF and struck out everywhere else. Very disappointed with the lack of stock on hand. But fun at the same time.

thanks- yeah i couldnt believe how little was available for sale, but it was well worth it to be able to see a lot of the blades and makers ive wondered about in person. im surprised some of the bigger names there only had a few knives on hand to sell when the event is supposed to last all weekend.

my friend bought a very cool damasteel tighe that i was prepared to buy, but i let him take it since it was his first venture into nonproduction blades. he more than repayed the favor since it was his name that got called on the lambert lottery and he let me take his spot. also the elishwitz knives with the lever lock on the scales were pretty cool as well- but the three they had went immediately via lottery.

there were also a lot of other makers I had never heard of that had some amazing products- so it was cool to have exposure to those since id otherwise never know about them. there was a south african brand that i took the card for that had some insane flippers with beautiful scales and filework (edit: Thorburn Knives). if i didnt get the lambert i was likely leaving with one of those as a solid consolation.
